Here's an updated effort on all movements, auto sit, exercise finish and sit/stay. This includes a 3 min sit/stay at 6', which is why the video is so long. There were a number of corrections on the sit/stay but we are definitely making good progress. The next video will be the Recall to SSIF and Down.
Great Job Kellie !!! She is working with you and for you.
ReplyDeleteRemember the right elbow goes to the sky when you correct for the sit at heel position.
You can tell she is internalizing the training. I remember her going crazy over the UPS truck when we first started LL. She kept her cool 😎.
On the turns your opposite foot to each direction should be at 45 degree angle while your shoulders are still facing forward before you make the turns. Left and right turns. The exaggeration of the foot at the 45 degree helps the dog read your Mechanics.
These two weeks have I’m proved both of you !!!
Yes , so much improvement. Great feedback Jessi.
ReplyDeleteKellie, here are 2 pointers from me.
1) Take MUCH smaller steps as the smaller the step, the more time the learning dog has to 'read your feet'.
2) When you complete an EXAM (or a training session), please don't go into 'leash mush '. What I mean by that term is the tendency of a learning student is to use the leash correctly for an EXAM and then, when done, the leash handling becomes sloppy. Anytime a dog has on its leash, LL, or light line (Week 7) , the dog is 'working'. We are trainto do to recognize not only your mechanics, but the training equipment. *ALWAYS, Always, always, handle these pieces of training equipment with cognitive awareness these pieces if training equipment are 'cues' to the dog it is to remain in 'work mode'. Be 🧐 careful in how you.treat the training equipment when on a learning dog as you can, inadvertently, train the dog to IGNORE or DISRESPECT the training equipment.
Does that make sense?
