HOMEWORK Week 1 Day 5: Robert and Sultan doing Day 5/6 HIGH distraction levels

So you know, Sultan is an imported street feral dog from Kuwait. Called a 'King Shepherd', but really just a GSD/Great Pyrenees dog. Sultan was HIGHLY reactive, cagey smart, observant, athletic, and more than willing to use his teeth and his body to drive people or dogs.  It took 2 years of training, but now Sultan is a delight to his owners (both did the FOUNDATION Course with him and BOTH owners took and did the Retrieve Course training with Sultan).  Two years, but this dog is now a joy for his two owners who are VERY well trained KMODT handlers.

The warm up

Introducing a distraction

The working Longe Line process

Ah...now you see Sultan's mental wheels turning as he said "No" to lunging for Sugar

Success! Do note that black blob on the left side of the screen is Pree. So Sultan has to work BETWEEN my two dogs and say "No" to lunging for either of them, he gets to choose to remain by Roberts side in the Safety Zone

  1. Got it. Good perspective for me. Why is Sugar in a donut?

  2. The big white Lab is Sugar and he is not in a donut. The smaller fox red Lab is Boaz and he was wearing a donut because of a neck injury.
