Long ago, in a state far, far away (MD)
It's been a busy day. Redd's photo shoot was today celebrating her graduation from my Mannerly Puppy CoursesThen it was on to Frank's Produce (which opened again today) for some fabulous LL work in the aisles. We did Sits, Stands, and Downs also.
And finally Quiet Time in a rather windy, noisy place.

Kellie,
ReplyDeleteI want you know, I, as an Instructor (Jessi too as my Lead Instructor), we follow my own FOUNDATION Course outline with all of our dogs. We don't do shortcuts, nor do we shorten the learning sequence of KMODT which is essentially a week of training new concepts, broken into Days 1/2, 3/4, and 5/6. And then the EXAM. We also do each required EXAM and video tape those EXAMs.
This is Redd, so very long ago, just over 3 years ago. She has come a LONG WAY. Please note Redd is a Graduate of my Mannerly Puppy Course so the Sit, Stand and Down mechanics were taught to her then, which is why she does them so very well in this Post.
We will never ask or instruct you to do anything that we haven't done so with our dogs. We are layering in a staunch foundation of teaching the dog 'how to learn to learn'. At the same time, we are layering into you, the owner, a staunch foundation of understanding how to move, what to do, and the 'why's of KMODT. When we are done with the FOUNDATION Course, we have an owner who is competent in knowing what to do, when, how, and why to help their learning dog succeed in any environment.
From that FOUNDATION Course, then we can begin the new layers of more advanced training - for both handler AND their dog.
Every move, every mechanic, everything we teach you to do is to set you and your dog up for success.

Yes if you put the time in you will have a great companion and beautifully trained dog
ReplyDeleteThank you gals, I appreciate your encouragement and effort. I have no doubt the training will be very effective for us both as soon as I can just give it sufficient daily time.
