Week 6 tests - Recall against HUGE distractions

Well this was an interesting exercise.  The first test was in the pasture against tied goats.   In hindsight, I should have longe lined her in there first to get her past all the smell distractions.  The goats barely got a rise, but their poop was enticing. I made several passes and kept reattempting to get a rise, hence the long video.

Second test against smelly sardines that she LOVES.  I even let her smell them ahead of time to make sure she knew exactly what she was missing.  She aced this one easily.

The third video was by far the best "test" of her recall (and my handling)... an unplanned opportunity I took advantage of.  Piper loves Shevelle, but not her husband or dogs.  I can see a number of flaws in effort.  I repeated a command once, her SSIF was never precise and her Finish had to be encouraged every time.  BUT she did recall each time asked, so there is definite progress.

Your feedback is appreciated!

BTW... I took her with me to Home Depot this am.  No signs or muzzles.  I still didn't allow anyone to approach her, but her demeanor was much calmer than in the past. I suspect she'd have allowed an approach if I had encouraged it, but I'm not ready to do yet and didn't want to stress her with any of my angst.  I think that is the best reflection of her advancement while I was gone.  Yay!
