Week 4, Test 3, Approach by stranger (Take 1)

This was my favorite exercise, super easy for her.  Ironic, since it was the one I was most concerned about last week.  Amazing how quickly both of our attitudes are changing!

Nailed by the third video. The first attempt, my friend jumped the gun, the second one she broke to move toward him (friendly, while muzzled), the third time without the muzzle, she stayed put and let him come through calmly.

She is such a smart girl!!

Week 4, Test 2 of 3, Recall to SSIF (Take 1)

This is the second of three videos.  Recall to SSIF.  As Roxanne and Mary will vouch, it took me a number of tries to override my automatic left foot lead.   Whew!

The third... approach by stranger, will be done tonight and posted either late tonight or first thing tomorrow.

Week 4, Test part 1 of 3 - Movement & down (Take 1)

Hi Gals!  I'm done with the first two tests and will be doing the third tonight.  I'm posting as I go in case I need to re-do either of them, I'll hopefully have time after church tomorrow.  On this test a few turns were off screen, but they were hopefully all also completed on screen.  I used the negative space board instead of Gayle's super cute place board to avoid getting it dirty in the mud.

Week 4 - wrapping my head around the week...

This week is easily as tricky as it seems.  Today's first walk though of the list revealed the steps I missed last week. Doh!  Love this method. Deficiencies are quickly revealed and hopefully corrected.

So, here's how I'm going to approach this week, given the linear thinker that I am...

Every session: QT on leash, followed by warm up with distracted LL, then distracted heeling with AS.  All exercises include Exercise Finish at each revolution

2 x 5 - Figure 8's (hula hoops) 5 in each direction
2 x 5 - Left About Turns
3 min Place with distractions (Place Board)
1min - Stand (Place board) - Approached from all four directions
5 - Supported Stand Circles (Place Board)
1 min - Sit/Stay - 6' with distractions (Place Board) (Eliminated once she has 1 min @ 15')
3 min - Sit/Stay - 15' with distractions * (Place Board)
2 x 5 - Recall to SSIF (saying Piper, come, yes, good girl) - 6' (two Front Place Boards)
2 x 5 - Down (on ground or hay bales)

End with 30min QT in kennel

*After Sit/Stay reaches 1 min 15' with distractions, I'll add the stranger approach.

Does this look like a sound plan?  Any comments or adjustments?
