HOMEWORK Intro to LL: LL do's and don'ts + videos and pictures

Here are some pictures and videos to help you remember how to hold the LL, how to work your LL training sessions, and an example of LL with low levels of distractions for Days 1 & 2.



LL is NOT a leash, this is unsafe if dog chooses to move from owner .
AND the handler is NOT standing on the LL so dog can bolt. 
DON'T DO THIS.



MUCH BETTER - see the handler is stepping on the LL with her left foot? Dog can't bolt away as handler gets hands situated correctly. Handler has total control of dog.

Loop of LL on right thumb, approximate 3' of safety loop, rabbit ear of safety loop in palm of handlers hand. Correct? Yes, that part is correct.
 HOWEVER, one of the LL is not held within 4 fingers in palm so this is NOT SAFE.

Yes, this is totally correct and safe left hand  LL position

Perfect as left hand position on LL is correct, right hand is stacked below left hand, both stacked hands are on handler's stomach, left foot still on LL by snap bolt of dog.



Careful here! Although owner has left foot on LL on ground by dog for control, her hands are not stacked together and on her stomach.  ALWAYS get yourself back into proper position ASAP when doing LL. This is for your safety as well as safety to your dog.
