Week 5 Cliff Notes: Return to Your Dog

 RETURN TO YOUR DOG

Optional this week, but required for Week 5. So, it’s a good idea to start practicing this week.

  • You’ll be walking around the dog to get back to heel position.
  • Make sure you step off with the right foot towards the dog’s left side.
  • If the dog moves while you’re going around them, put light upward pressure on the leash and put their butt back on the ground.
  • Once back in heel position (left pant seam beside dogs right shoulder) praise.
  • Exercise Finish

Important!  DO NOT step on the dog’s tail as you walk around them! If you do, they will lose all trust in you and it will ruin their Stay moving forward.
